Dim The Lights

Install a dimmer switch in your bedroom. This will allow you to control the brightness, reducing your energy costs and increasing the life of your light bulbs.

Go LED

Upgrade your bedroom light bulbs to LED. These extremely energy efficient bulbs will last longer and save you money.

Program vs. Manual

A programmable thermostat will help you keep your home at a constant temperature. It will be more accurate than your manual thermostat, and you won’t have to remember to make any adjustments. Tip: program your thermostat to adjust at night. You may not need to use as much heat in the Winter while you’re sleeping.

Go Certified

Is your dehumidifier ENERGY STAR® certified? Certified models can use up to 15% less energy than their non-certified counterparts (saveonenergy.ca).

Fan vs. A.C.

Using a ceiling fan at night will allow you to turn your A.C. down in the Summer. Plus and ENERGY STAR® certified ceiling fan is 50% more efficient than a non-certified model.
