Royal LePage Royal City’s 2023 Summer Soiree, A Smashing Success
Published on September 12th, 2023

For the first time in four years, Royal LePage Royal City Realty hosted their annual Summer Soiree for Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis. And it was a huge success!

The brokerage raised $26,500 for the community-based organization. Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis provides support and services to women and their children following events of domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking.

On a rainy Thursday (August 17, 2023), sponsors, Royal City Realtors and members of the community gathered under a tent at the Aberfoyle Mill for a fun-filled evening of games, live entertainment from Southbound Soul and a silent and live auction.

“Whether it’s the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, the golf tournaments or any of the other events, [Royal LePage Royal City Realty] always shows up. And that is huge,” Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis Executive Director, Sly Castaldi said during the event. ”And I know that [Royal LePage Royal City] sells homes… and families need homes [but] homes are not always a safe place.”

Adding, “That is the tie between what [Royal LePage Royal City Realty] does and what we do… and I am forever grateful for what [Royal LePage Royal City] does for us.”

Royal LePage Royal City Realty would also like to thank the 2023 sponsors, the Chairman’s Sponsor, Marie Illerbrun and Nancy Ingram from Dominion Lending Centres, the Entertainment Sponsor, Anthony Homes, the Red Diamond sponsor, Chalmers Fuels, the President’s Gold sponsors, Wealth Track, Abilities Behaviour Consulting, The Real Estate Book, Sidonio’s, Canada General Warranty and Building Insights Inc. We’d also like to share a huge shout out to Trina Kosner of Trina Kosner Photography who donated so much of her time.

Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis was founded in 1977 by eight University of Guelph students who started a rape crisis line for their fellow students. Today, due to their commitment, determination, and community support, Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis has helped and continues to help thousands of women and children each year in our community. In 2022, Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis celebrated their 45th anniversary!

“Everyone needs a safe and loving place to call home and the Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis provides our most vulnerable with the community, safety and reassurance they need,” Royal LePage Royal City’s Broker of Record, Jeffy C. Morley said of the fundraiser. “We are always so thrilled to be a part of what they do.”

He added, “It is a huge honour.”
