On Friday April 22, 2016, the Canadian Cancer Society invites local businesses to “Paint the Town Yellow” in support of their 2016 fundraising campaign. For the event, employees donate a minimum of $5 each to dress in yellow and participate in a team photo which will be taken at the Speedvale Avenue Office at 2pm April 20th. Each participant will receive a daffodil pin and a dress down sticker.
The Royal City Realty team is hoping to raise $600 through donations on the day of the event. Last year the team raised $525. When Broker of Record Robb Atkinson agreed to match the gifts (and more), it brought the team’s total donation to $1,050. The funds go to support the Cancer Society’s life-saving programs and research.
Royal City Realty staff member Ami Hack is organizing the group’s participation in the event again this year.
Last year, The Society selected Royal City Realty as ‘Fight Back Champion’ for their photo of the Royal City Realty team posed in front of Royal LePage Royal City’s newest location at 848 Gordon Street. The society selected the winning photo based on the enthusiasm shown by the group, the creativity of the scene and the number of people dressed in yellow and using props.
“I’d like to thank everyone who took part in making Paint the Town Yellow so successful last year,” says Hack. “We can’t thank you enough for all of your support in making cancer history. We’re really excited to be organizing the event again. Hope to see such great participation again this year.”
